A Bit About My Card Readings

I have three oracle decks I use in my reading. The first is a chakra oracle deck. I use this deck to tell me what is going on with the individual’s energy field coming from their main energy that I am reading.  The second is an energy deck that I use to tell me what situations around them are affecting them and their energy field, and the third is a vibration deck that shows us actions the individual can do to help raise their vibration or just helpful tips to keep them mindful.
I also have an oracle deck called Universal Love that I use for relationships or couples readings, And then of course Tarot (used for anything and everything.)

When I give a reading I do what is called a free reading. This means instead of shuffling the deck and then drawing from the top. I have the client shuffle the cards as many times and any way they would like. Once they do so I take the cards and I shuffle them and allow the cards to fall out of the deck.  My intention that I have set with that is that as I shuffle the cards and spirit will allow the right cards to fall out.  I love free reads!  I tell you what, spirit hasn’t missed a mark since then.  But please keep in mind to do whatever makes you more comfortable as you do a reading. If drawing from the top makes more sense to you, then please keep doing that.

As far as a lay out goes, I lay my cards out in a line. So by the end of the reading there will be three horizontal lines, nothing super complicated, however simple and affected. Do not get me wrong, it’s always great to play with it and come up with a lay out that has an intention set behind it.  Some people prefer that. I just choose to make it as simple and easy as possible and that is okay.

When I feel the reading has come to a completion, I will kindly let the client know by saying something like “This wraps up your reading.” Then I thank my guides as well as their guides for communicating for the highest good.  (It is always important to show gratitude for spirit as well as your client.)

How to Sharpen Your Intuition.

How to Sharpen Your Intuition.

Sharpening your intuition can be tricky, and if you Google it, you will get many suggestions on how to develop and grow intuitively.  I thought I would take some time out to share what I know about this topic and also sharing what I find the most effective for me.  Opening up to your gifts can be very overwhelming at first.  You have so many questions anywhere from “Am I going crazy?” to “I do not know where that thought came from.” Or even “Am I the only one that saw that!?” I can tell you, you are not going crazy.  Some people stay open to their gifts, some close off, and some do not open until later on in life.  Regardless of when you open up to your gifts, it’s all in divine timing. It is not to be judged.  Never judge your gifts off anyone else’s or look at them and say that guys only 20 and has a good grip on his gifts and here I am in my 40’s just starting.  Honestly, who cares? It is what it is, now stop having a pity party and realize it is never too late to keep learning or open up to the gifts at hand.

But how?   You will want to learn what your gifts are. Once you do this, you will be able to really focus on them and build from there.  Personally, I would say just find out what your primary gift is and then work solely on that one. Through strengthening that gift, you will learn to open up to more gifts as you grow and build confidence. Once you find your primary gift, meditate with it.

For example I am clairaudient, so when I meditate, I connect into spirit and I ask them to do a “sound check”. In doing a sound check, I could start hearing ringing in my ears and the pitch will change.  Or I could have thoughts projected into my head of information.  Sometimes it will seem as if you are making it up but just know you are not.  It is real.  Tell the ego to step aside and allow the spirit train to chug on through (toot toot).

If you are clairvoyant go into meditations and ask your angels and guides. Please show me how my clairvoyance will work. And from there you could experience colors showing up, or images of waves coming in and out. You could get signs or symbols of all kinds. Try not to overthink it or second guess it.  Simply take the sign and symbol for face value.  As we talked about it in a previous blog, you will know the meaning of that sign and symbol based off of what it means to you.

For clairsentient you would ask of your guides and angels something like this. Please show me what anxiety feels like. What does anger feel like? Joy? Oppression? Love? Etc. You will realize that these feeling may feel different when you are connected to spirit or when reading someone else’s energy that what it would if you felt them yourself. Just sit there and play with that. For my mediums you can ask to be shown what a heart attack is, head trauma, car crash, communication blocks and what as your guides show you on your body so when giving someone a reading you will be able to sense how they passed. This can come in handy when it comes to validation to the person you are reading that you truly have their loved one with you right then and there. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND: if you do this exercise to call in the love and light, shield with protection, and really ground before starting this exercise as you should before doing any exercise.

The other suggestion that I have would be to be mindful to the energy’s around you.  If you are clairsentient, really feel the energy around you.  In a room, store, at home, and around people that you come in contact with, does the energy feel heavy? It could feel light and peaceful. Clairvoyants should really pay attention to sight, not only with your third eye, but with your actual eyes that see into this world. You may be surprised to see that you are seeing flashes of light, orbs or imaged in your mind even though your eyes are open.  Clairaudients should really listen to your surroundings and for example if you are in a park: birds singing, children laughing, cars honking. Doing these exercises will allow you to really listen to the voice inside coming from spirit giving you information.

How to Read Cards Intuitively

How to Read Cards Intuitively.

         www,Opalstruth.com

In the last blog, we talked about the differences in Tarot and oracle cards.  In this blog, I plan to give you some helpful hints to reading cards intuitively.  Starting from the top, Tarot- yes they have their own story line that the cards have that have been passed from tradition, but what if I told you that you don’t have to pay attention to the traditional meaning of the cards, or if you do, it doesn’t have to be your main focus. In Tarot the Swords, Wands, Cups, and Pentacles all mean different things just them alone. Then you have the numerology to it. Below I have provided brief meaning of the elements and numerology.

Swords - Logic/ Thought
Wands – Creativity/Spirit
Cups – Emotion/Feelings
Pentacles - Material Things/Money/Career

1-      1. Creativity and Confidence
2-      2. Cooperation and Balance
3-      3. Expression and Sensitivity
4-      4. Stability and Process
5-      5. Freedom and Discipline
6-      6. Vision and Acceptance
7-      7. Trust and Openness
8-      8. Abundance and Power
9-     9.  Integrity and Wisdom
0-     0.  Inner Gifts

With this simple basic knowledge, you can read Tarot; however, even without this knowledge, you can read tarot.

When I read Tarot, I don’t really pay much attention to the numbers or the elements. (Gasp! how dare I; I know!) You really don’t need them.  You can read cards intuitively whether their Oracle or Tarot.  But how? You simply listen to spirit through your gift, (clairaudience, clairvoyant, or clairsentients). When you get your first deck of cards or a new deck, you may be tempted to look at the book that comes with the deck to draw the information about each card.  If you do, that’s okay, but it is not reading cards intuitively and personally I think when people do that, they are putting spirit in a box and limiting the meaning of the cards, and the messages that have the potential to come through from spirit through your gifts.  You might ask again “How do you read cards intimately?” It’s a process. As you get your deck of cards, before looking at the book, try to sit down with them and you get to know them. You look at each card individually.  You look at colors, themes, actions, weather, and elements.  Then as you notice those things ask yourself “what do they mean to me?” Whatever or however you feel about the symbol is what will be conveyed in the reading. Spirit communicates differently to different people. For example, when I see water, I think of emotions or energy moving. When someone else sees water, maybe they think of strength and power.  Spirit will often times tailor the imagery to your meaning so they can better communicate through you. Trust me, it would be a lot easier to just have spirit speak clear English, but they don’t. So instead work on building that relationship with your guides, angels and source. (We will talk about building the relationship with Divine in another blog to come.)

Tarot and oracle come from different realms, yet very similar, and will give what spirit has to say across, no matter what you choose to use. It is really just whatever you are drawn to (Oracle or Tarot), especially when it comes to knowing what deck to get.  Get the deck you feel connects with you, and you will know when it does. When I first got into card reading and I told spirit I was ready to learn. And as I was on Amazon one day, I saw a Chakra oracle deck.  In some way, shape, and form, I was drawn to it; it caught my eye. It is as simple as that. Do not over think it.

Hope this Helped,
Sending Light and Love

Difference Between Tarot and Oracle Cards

Difference Between Tarot and Oracle Cards

www.opalstruth.com

I get this question a lot “what the different is between tarot and oracle card?” and like many things, you will have many answer based on how other people perceive the difference.  So allow me to share my thoughts on this topic.

I would like to start with tarot.  Most anyone raised in the church (such as myself) has been taught that tarot cards are bad and of the devil blah blah blah.  I personally thought this way for a long time, most of my life even.  Now I would say that’s dust in the wind and very untrue.  Tarot cards do have a misleading image due to Hollywood using them in their scary or dark movies.  Like most things it is all about intention.   Some people don’t like the devil card or the death card in tarot, but that is mainly due to people being uneducated on what the cards really mean. The Devil card often shows a devil and two humans chained to the ground or to him.  Though sometimes the imaging can be off putting, you must look deeper into the meaning (after all it is art).  The meaning behind the Devil card is not letting the negative things or situations (the Devil) bind you or hold you in that dark place.  As for the Death card, you will often see the angel of death, or a Grim Reaper. This simply means that you are going to have a spiritual death and a new awakening. It could also mean that certain situations around you could be coming to an end to make way for the new awakening or new chapter in life.
In tarot, the meanings of the cards are already built in with a story line connected to them.  There are cups, swords, wands, and pentacles. The direct symbolism and meanings are all built in though numerology and the imaging of cups, swords, wands, and pentacles. But we will talk about how to read cards in the next blog. Moving on shall we….

Then there are oracle cards.  I prefer to use oracle cards only for the simple fact that there isn’t anything “story line” or true meaning of the card. In other words I like them better because I feel you can build/set your own intention for the deck and how you want to use them, and you can read them more intuitively since there is no set outline in the cards’ meaning like there is in tarot.  Some oracle cards don’t have any writing on them at all, some have one word or phrases on them, and some have the main meaning of the card and then has the message already written on it.

Most importantly, whether it is tarot or a certain type of oracle card, use whatever type of cards you are drawn to the most.

Next blog will be about how to read cards intuitively.  Stay tuned.

My Thoughts On Imagination Part 2

"My Thoughts On Imagination Part 2"

I have been thinking about what to write about next as my blog, but oddly enough nothing is coming to me.  Spirit keeps leading me back to needing to talk about imagination and give more examples or clarity.
Here is an example I hear all the time.  I go to a Psychic Development class to help support one of my dear friends.  About every week, she has a new person or two and after the mediation they say something like this: “I closed my eyes and during the meditation I saw the color green, then I hear peace, love, and joy. But I must be crazy or just imagined it.”  or “ I saw my grandpa and we had a conversation.”
Oh Man, famous words I hear all the time. “I must have imagined it.”  I understand when a person is new to mediation they will have their doubts and second guesses which leads them to say “I must have imagined it.” But here is my point, you didn’t imagine anything. When you mediate you can hear, see, or feel things. You are not imagining them. It is real. You are opening yourself up and allowing, which in return pushes your ego aside. Doing this allows spirit to come through and speak to you or through you to other people.
Isn’t it interesting how when we are in that meditative state, we allow things to play out and we accept it, but then as soon as we are out of the mediation, we start second guessing ourselves and the meditation.  This is due to us pushing the ego aside and being open.  Spirit comes in, gives us what we are meant to see, hear, or feel to help push us along our path in this life time.  As some come out of their meditation, their ego comes back with them and starts asking questions.  “What does that mean?”  Was that real?” “Did I imagine that”  “I’m crazy” the monkey mind comes back full swing.
So how do we keep the ego from coming back that easily when it comes back after mediation?  Well I have realized that there is no imagination. It is really about being open.  I have also practiced meditation with higher self and talking to higher self. And in a way, staying connected to Spirit and higher self even after I am done with meditation. How do I to this? Well first off meditate, then practice and thirdly set the intention that when you come back from meeting with higher self, guides, spirit or even source that you will still be connected, yet grounded in this plan as well. It is all about intention when it comes to that angle on things folks.

In conclusion I believe there is no Imagination.  If there is, it is just a word that we as humans used to label being open to the 6th sense, and psychic abilities.

My Thoughts about “Imagination”

My Thoughts about “Imagination”

I know, I know, it’s been a while since I put up a blog post. Shame on me.  However, right now I would like to share my thoughts on “Imagination”. What is the “Imagination”?  According to dictionary.com the definition is:

The faculty of imagining, or of forming mental images or concepts of what is not actually present to the senses.”

Now I don’t know about you, but doesn’t this sound like the definition of being “open”? Understand, when I say “Open”, I mean open to Sprit Divine. Please before I lose you, allow me to explain.

When we were children, or any child for that matter, people say “Oh, they have such an imagination.” You see kids having “imaginary friends”, they could see shadows, etc., who is to say that it’s their imagination?  I believe that children do not have an Imagination. I believe that they are more open to spirit than adults. When they pass the age to be held accountable for their actions and puberty starts, the ego starts to take hold.  This is when we start to close off to spirit. We enter into young adulthood and often times the individual closes off to spirit. Hint: why people say they lost their “Imagination”. When in my opinion they did not lose their imagination. They instead closed off their connection to Spirit, whether on purpose or not. We are Spiritual beings, here for our souls to learn lessons while in a human body.  With the human body comes the ego and emotions. We have to learn how to navigate our human experience with the emotions and ego intact.

Now how does one reconnect to Spirit after being so closed off and navigate the ego?  Well with practice and changing your way of thinking or prospective, you can open back up to Spirit and find that connection again.    In order to do so, one would have to find out how to become mindful. One will have to learn how to push the ego aside, learning to trust one’s self and the information they are getting or experiencing.

This can happen in numerous ways such as clairvoyance, clairaudience and clairsentience (just to name a few.)  When getting information as crazy as it may seem to you (and you might feel like you’re making it up in your “imagination”) it just might make total sense to someone around you and be just what they need to hear. One of my teachers always says “First thought is Spirit, second thought is ego.” This means that since we are spiritual beings, our first thought is us connecting to spirit or what some may call our “Imagination”. Then as we think about the thought more, we start to analyze the thought or feeling being our ego trying to figure it out and how it makes sense, leading to us brushing or wiping the thought from our mind completely.

Another way one could open up to spirit and be mindful is to meditate.  There are plenty of free apps you can download for mediation.  I know YouTube has some nice guided meditations but ultimately you have to choose what resonates with you. It could be just mediation music, a sound track of a stream gently flowing, or maybe you need help and like to be guided through meditations.

The key is to trust yourself.  Yes, you might feel like it’s your “Imagination” running wild, but is it? Or are you starting to realize that imagination doesn’t exist, it’s just a matter of being open to
Spirit.
